Wendy is the kind of HR professional that every business needs but which is hard to find. She understands her role is as an enabler of business performance, rather than the kind of gate guardian that all too often slows down key decisions and processes. She moves quickly to analyse situations and identify underlying issues without being distracted by the background noise that too often impedes progress. I’ve found her to be fearless in challenging stakeholders and bringing objective and critical thinking into the organisational development process. She has also provided wise counsel in the selection and recruitment process, especially in filling more challenging posts where her ability to think laterally has been invaluable. Wendy also has unusually broad and deep experience across diverse international environments, cultures and sectors on which she is able to draw. Keeping a cool head at all times and able to adapt to seemingly any environment, she has an uncanny ability to get to the point and bring people with her, embracing compromise when necessary but never losing sight of critical objectives. All of this is backed up by detailed knowledge of employment law and common practice in both international and domestic environments. I recommend her without reservation.
The "Winston Wolfe" of the HR profession. Whether you are looking at a hard conversation, a complex ER investigation, a collective change management exercise or interim senior HR appointment, Wendy is your "go to" consummate HR leader, mentor, change agent and professional. Blessed with an erudite and organised mind, an exceptional ability to read people and the temperature of the room, a tool box of fantastically well honed soft skills, Wendy builds complete trust, rapport and confidence with everyone she works with, from top table to shop floor, and always delivers. I have worked with Wendy for more than 10 years and would have no hesitation in recommending her to clients and other law firms.
Wendy is an outstanding board level HR practitioner. She is a solid, experienced and highly effective strategist, negotiator and mediator. She is calm and methodical and imbues a sense of confidence in everything that she does. Her strategic intellect and high emotional intelligence make her an outstanding asset in effectively implementing complex change or resolving business disputes. Her sense of integrity and fairness come through in everything that she does. However, this should never be mistaken for weakness. She is tenacious and always gets results for her clients. But the thing that sets her apart is her ability to do so in such a way that takes people with her. When she is done, all parties feel that they have been treated fairly. This is a rare gift. I recommend her highly. You will never regret having Wendy on your side.
Wendy is an exceptional HR executive; she excels at organizational structure and development. I worked with her on combining and transforming multiple NBC cable and NBC News operations in London. Wendy understands how to connect with employees whilst implementing big operational change at all levels. Additionally, her ability to work well with U.S. based executives at various NBC divisions and multiple European leaders to deliver effective timely solutions was impressive. Wendy possesses an extensive knowledge and understanding of European laws and procedures as well. You would be hard pressed to find a better person, a better team member and thought leader.
Having initially met many years ago as HR Professionals at GE, we reconnected when I set up my consulting business 9 years ago. I have called upon Wendy a number of times to assist me with dispute resolution matters including disciplinary and grievance hearings and appeals, as well as handling restructuring/redundancy situations. I am always confident that Wendy will relate well to the client and deliver high quality work in a highly efficient manner. Wendy has a great sense of humour which can diffuse difficult situations and her prior experiences makes her immediately credible with all the parties
Wendy and I worked together during the initial launch of NBC Europe and CNBC Europe. Wendy was responsible for all of our HR functions including most critically the hiring of much of our new staff. She showed great judgement and patience in this effort. Wendy was the corner stone in developing a productive, supportive culture in a business that was just finding its way. She also played a key role in the integration of the business with a major competitor. After returning to the U.S. I recommended Wendy for several additional assignments with General Electric Companies. From all reports she excelled in that work as well. Wendy is a true professional whom I am happy to recommend without reservation.
Wendy was a pleasure to work with - she was upbeat, collegiate and consistently delivered. She had many challenges to overcome to reposition the people agenda in the eyes of the business. She did this very effectively through a combination of personal authenticity and determination. I thoroughly recommend Wendy
Wendy's global experience combined with her results-oriented approach and creative ideas allow her to be extremely effective in a wide array of situations.
Wendy is enthusiastic, highly experienced and knowledgeable, hands-on, pragmatic and highly reliable. She makes things happen - quickly! HR can be an arcane science. Wendy cuts through the jargon and focuses on results. It was an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to work with her.
Wendy provided HR support to one of our clients through a redundancy consultation process. She worked well with the client, helping them to navigate their way through the process, in what were difficult and emotional circumstances, to achieve a successful outcome.
It was a pleasure working with Wendy, I worked well with her understanding and empathetic approach, skilfully combined with practical, direct and commercial focused advice.
Direct, no-nonsense, comprehensible advice. Extremely swift and responsive, regardless of the size of the account. It was a big relief to find Wendy after having encountered a great deal of HR circumlocution in the past.
Wendy is a unique leader who is always focused on the results. She is a great executor and always remains on the top of the project and keeps everyone up to speed (and on their toes). She is good at dealing with conflict and managing it effectively. As an HR professional she has a very good heart for people
Wendy is a consummate professional in the HR arena and it was my great fortune that she was my direct line manager and mentor for 2 years. Wendy is very approachable, thinks quickly, moves at pace and can get the job done when it all seems impossible. Wendy's strengths lie in her strategic mindset and ability get everyone working in harmony, she can always be relied on to be responsible and accountable and she creates a high energy work environment. I look forward to the day when we can work together again!
Wendy and I worked closely together during the launch of NBC Europe and CNBC Europe. This was a challenging undertaking involving a very high level of change management, recruiting, restructuring and facility relocation at a time of great turmoil in the Media Industry. Regardless of the nature, size or complexity of the matter at hand Wendy's skill, determination and pragmatic approach coupled with her dry sense of humour made the time we worked together an absolute joy and the project would not have been such a resounding success without her contribution.
I was lucky enough to work for Wendy at the start of my career, When I was just 19 years old. Although I didn't know it, I was fortunate enough to be working for one of the biggest companies in the world and surrounded by great people to draw experience from. I had just joined a team that had been moved across London, and TUPE'd into a part of General Electric. It was a couple of years after this that we migrated a lot of the staff back across London to form CNBC, in a joint venture with the Dow Jones. It wasn't until much later on, after going through TUPE and other redundancies, that I have begun to fully appreciate just how smoothly and professionally this was carried out. I think this speaks volumes for Wendy, who made these transitions appear effortless. On top of this Wendy is a great man manager, and was able to provide exactly the right level of guidance that I needed at that time to get the best out of me, a skill I'm desperately trying to copy for myself now as a manager! Wendy has that perfect mix of humour, respect, knowledge and that little bit of fear, which meant I would always try to get whatever I was working on 100% correct. Thanks again for the help I got in those first few years of my working life.
